Getting from the station into Siena
One thing worth knowing: Siena's station sits about 2 km below the walled old town. A set of escalators (scale mobili) and frequent city buses carry you up to the centre in a few minutes. If arriving right in the heart of town matters to you, the direct bus from Florence (Autolinee Toscane / Flixbus) drops off closer to Piazza del Campo — but the train is faster and more scenic.
